North Texas Housing Market Warming Up for Spring

Well, spring is finally here!  In the real estate world, this typically means that the country as a whole is thawing out and people are selling/buying houses again.
Here in North Texas, we didn't see the typical slowdown despite some late-season wintry weather.  Sales and new listings were down in February from last year, however this is certainly linked to low inventory, which is down almost 25%!  A strong demand, thanks in large part to a steady flow of jobs into the area, has allowed home prices to continue to increase over last year as well (+6.5% for Dallas County).  With the economy remaining stable and the Federal Reserve showing no sign of raising interest rates, sales should be strong through spring and we can count on higher prices, a tight market, and strict mortgage qualifying standards to keep the market in check.
Yep, this is a great time to sell your house in DFW – whether you go the conventional way or with an investor like North DFW Home Buyers. Right now the average time a house will be on the market in DFW is 2 months. Don’t have that long? We specialize in getting your home sold fast. Maybe you don’t have the time, money, or desire to make necessary repairs so your house will pass inspections. We are here to help!
